About Umbrella
Today, Umbrella operates through pop-ups, partnerships, and private events around the Triangle, while maintaining a retail presence at the Self Care Marketplace in downtown Raleigh — open Wednesday through Sunday.
The bottle shop carries a curated selection of non-alcoholic spirits, aperitifs, bitters, and mixers, chosen for how they actually perform in a glass. Many of the bottles on the shelf are the same ones used in the cocktail program.
At its core, Umbrella is about expanding what social drinking can look like — without prescribing how or why someone chooses not to drink.

Umbrella was founded to make non-alcoholic cocktails feel complete — not like a compromise, and not like an afterthought.
From the beginning, the focus has been on balance, texture, and flavor. Drinks are built using botanical spirits, bitters, syrups, and fresh ingredients, with the same care and intention you'd expect from a traditional cocktail program. No substitutes. No shortcuts.
Umbrella launched in 2021 — founded by Meg Paradise after a decade in the food and beverage industry and a growing conviction that the non-alcoholic space deserved something better. What started as a mobile bar service evolved through pop-ups, markets, and a short-lived brick-and-mortar before landing in its current form — a bottle shop and event program rooted in the Triangle.
In 2025, Charlie Blue Arm joined as co-owner and partner, bringing a background in beverage direction and a shared commitment to building something that lasts.
