WHAT IS KUNDALINI YOGA?

Kundalini yoga is a powerful practice utilizing breathwork, movement, mantra (chanting), visualization, and meditation. The “yoga of the sound current”, Kundalini works on both the physical body and the subtle “energy body” with the vibrational practices of mantra and breathwork. Repetitive movements, powerful breathwork, and gentle stretches bring the mind into mind a “flow state”, allowing for new perspectives and a transformation of subconscious thoughts and patterns.

Class will focus on the theme of honoring our ancestors through connection with the breath and with our hearts. We will also practice a special Kriya (combination of postures, mantra, &breathwork) called Healing Ancestral Trauma.

This month marks the transition from Fall harvest to Winter hibernation. It is a time to explore the darker emotions of loss, fear, and survival instincts. We can celebrate this darkness by honoring the beauty and love that has blossomed from the grief in our hearts. Take this time to honor your ancestors AND learn yogic tools to release unhelpful inherited ancestral traumas and habits. Class is accessible to all levels of yoga and meditation experience and any spiritual belief system.

What to bring:

Yoga Mat Cushion or Pillow to sit on

Towel Layers/blankets Water

(OPTIONAL) An object or photo which connects you to a specific ancestor and/or loved one you’d like to honor

Your smiling self, and a friend or family member!
