🧟♀️ Umbrella’s Spooky Weekend + an Artet Tasting Soon
Here is our newsletter about what we’re pouring this Halloweekend
Oct 23, 2025
Hi friends,
We’re heading into one of our favorite weekends of the season—two back-to-back events at Downtown sCARY Park where we’ll be slinging zero-proof sips for zombies, pumpkin carvers, and spooky movie lovers alike.
Friday (Oct 24): Zombiepalooza
🕕 6–10pm
Come find us for Strawberry Blood Cells in blood bag IVs (campy and creepy in the best way), warm cider, and a few witchy surprises. Zombiepalooza is Cary’s annual short film competition featuring all-local, all-zombie submissions (under 5 minutes, family-friendly). Films screen outdoors on the Great Lawn—costumes encouraged, with prizes for kids and adults.
Saturday (Oct 25): Pumpkin Carve + Scary Movie Night
🎃 Carving: 2–6pm
🎥 Movies: 5–10:45pm
Saturday’s lineup is stacked.
From 2–6 PM, Downtown Cary Park transforms into a festive pumpkin carving party with family-friendly games, crafts, and food trucks. Carve a $5 pumpkin right on-site, paint Halloween figurines, and enjoy activities like witch hat ring toss and “pumpkin suds.” We’ll be posted up at Academy Plaza all day with cozy seasonal cocktails.
As the sun sets, spooky fun shifts into hotel-themed movie night. Pre-screening activities kick off at 5 PM (think: haunted keychains, puppet-making, and candy cornhole), followed by a double feature: Hotel Transylvania at 7:15, then 1408 at 9PM (recommended 18+). Bring blankets, dress up, and stay a while—this one’s meant to be a full-on Halloween experience.
🍸 Looking Ahead: Artet Tasting — Nov 8
If you can’t make it to Halloweekend, mark your calendar for something equally cozy: we’re hosting a tasting with Artet, a cannabis-infused aperitif I’ve been really loving lately.
Artet is a microdosed THC spirit (just 2.5mg per serving), infused with ginger, cardamom, grapefruit, and chamomile. It’s hemp-derived, meaning it contains the same THC compound found in marijuana—but sourced from legally compliant hemp plants, as permitted under the 2018 Farm Bill. This makes it legal to sell and sip in North Carolina and most other U.S. states.
The Artet rep will be joining us to sample both their flagship aperitif and their ready-to-drink spritzes—which we’re not yet carrying, so it’s a first look 👀. Plus, anyone who purchases a bottle of the aperitif will receive a complimentary 4-pack of the RTD cans.
Personally, I’ve been enjoying it with cranberry-raspberry Spindrift (a seasonal gem I just spotted at Costco). The buzz is lighter than a glass of wine—more of a conversational lift, perfect for slow evenings or creative afternoons.

🧃 Why We Keep Doing This
These events remind me why Umbrella exists in the first place—to create pockets of joy, presence, and togetherness, without needing alcohol to hold the moment. Whether it’s a blood bag cocktail or a cozy tasting, we’re here to pour generously and celebrate intentionally.
If you’re local, come see us this weekend.
See you out there,
Meg
